Welcome!

It's a fresh new year and we are so excited to be bringing you a brand new program! Arts 4 Alzheimer's is here. Our funding is in place, our planning is complete and the pilot starts April 7. This is a great opportunity to stimulate that creative part of the mind, a place often left very much in tact despite the ravages of dementia.

New Program! Arts 4 Alzheimer's

Arts 4 Alzheimer's

A generous donation has made a new program - Arts 4 Alzheimer's - possible a year ahead of schedule! We Rage We Weep Alzheimer Foundation has received funding to begin a pilot program that enables people with dementia living at home with their caregivers to try their hand at art as well as enjoying some of their favourite music.

We Rage We Weep Alzheimer Foundation also hope its new Arts 4 Alzheimer's program will not only help those with dementia but support their caregivers by offering them a break from their 24/7 caring responsibilities. Caregivers may leave their loved ones with the program facilitators to enjoy some much needed respite or they may choose to stay and observe or participate. The program is unique to other programs as its sole focus is the art and music. The program is open to seniors who reside in the municipality of Oak Bay.

Special guest musical guide: Louise Rose.

And Wander Prevention Tips!

New funding is available for fully subsidized Personal Locator Units so don't hesitate to enroll your loved one today!

If you are worried about your loved one wandering away, getting lost or disoriented and not being able to find their way home please contact us right away and enroll them in Project Lifesaver.  You'll enjoy peace of mind knowing your loved one can be located and returned to you safely.

It may just save your loved one's life!

Tip...
To prevent exiting try placing a loose plastic cover over your door handle that makes it difficult to grasp and turn as it spins freely on the handle unless you know to put your fingers through the holes in the cover.  This simple inexpensive device may be just the ticket to deter your loved one from leaving.
