What is the Dementia Devices Service?

Persons with dementia want to be independent, age in place and stay safe while enjoying freedom of movement, privacy and dignity. Caregivers and families want technologies to empower them and their loved one with dementia - including tools to enable lifestyle management such as balancing elder care, parenting and work while reducing the stress and worry of their caring role offering much welcome peace of mind. The Dementia Devices service provides guidance to make an educated decision on which of the available products/services (GPS Tech, Mobile Apps, Smart Home, Cellular, Radio Frequency or Traditional) is most appropriate for each unique situation.

How does it work?

The Dementia Device service is a function of We Rage We Weep Alzheimer Foundation. The Foundation will provide consultation, education, orientation and support to individuals, families, groups, businesses or public service agencies interested in any of the devices under the service including GPS tech. A portion of the proceeds of the sales of some technologies or suggested donation amount goes towards funding the above community supports as well as growing a pool of subsidized devices for financially disadvantaged persons with dementia, their caregivers and families.

Who Benefits from the use of Dementia Devices or GPS Tech?

Caregivers and families of persons with dementia
   • Have peace of mind that their loved ones with dementia are supported and when applicable can be located quickly and recovered safely
